So steam was/is offering a deal on the Witcher Trilogy since Witcher 3 is being released in May and so I went ahead and bought it. I have done some research and many people compare it to Skyrim. As many people know I’m a Skyrim fanatic lately so my question is: How do all of you feel the games compare? Am I going to be happy playing the trilogy or should I have just stuck with Skyrim?

I equate The Witcher as a culmination of the best (and arguably worst) elements of Metro, Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age, and God Of War. The latter is mainly due to the adult content and overall visceral nature of it. The narrative is strong and it’s based on folklore from countries like Poland and the Ukraine, if I am not mistaken.

You can’t go wrong if you love high-fantasy settings. Gameplay is debateable but the story and overall experience is there for sure. =oD
