#DoctorWho RECAP: Timey-Wimey Tea Time Episode 6: Is Doctor Who a proper kid’s show?

Doctor, who?!

In Episode TWTT 6, we point out the elephant in the room and ponder if Doctor Who is still a kids show. The absence of strong language, graphic violence and sexually charged content, does not make it kid safe per se. But if you hear us out first, you’ll have big take aways when you watch (or rewatch) Doctor Who Episode 5, Time HeistThat’s what our community is saying.

As always, we gladly shared some of the comments you left on YouTube for TWTT Episode 4 and we played new submissions for the #SoftKitty song contest. Oh, heck yes, Yomar has fixed the sound problems.

We talked about ABC’s new romantic comedy, Selfie. Both Yomar and Stan like it. It’s not just a Karen Gillan thing – formerly Amy Pond of Doctor Who. There’s more than a few interesting characters. Keep your eye out for Charmonique.

Tune in Saturday, October 4th at 12 noon ET for an interactive, live chat experience of TWTT Episode 7 on http://www.twitch.tv/geekyantics or http://www.allgames.com.

October 4th. 12 noon for New York City, Washington, D.C. and Miami, 9am for the U.S. West Coast, 4pm in Madrid, 5pm for London and 7pm, Bucharest.

Is the Doctor a good man? Is Doctor Who still a kid’s show? Why is Moffat stripping the Doctor of his dignity?

What’s wrong with the 12th doctor, you ask.

A blue box does not a hero make. Or does it?

The 12th Doctor struggles to be heroic in The Caretaker episode. Clara’s poor relationship skills come under scrutiny. And does she really think that love (or true love) is going on when one accidentally blurts out, “I love him.” She would benefit greatly by this simple, little book.

We shared our fears with you last week. About the dark, loneliness, rejection, trust, etc. We pondered about the things that go bump in the night and almost contemplated the existence of demons and angels. But Ted Tarr did the latter much better than we would.

The Timey Wimey Tea Time Episode 6 Recap

This episode Yomar Lopez and Stan Faryna talk about whether or not Doctor Who is appropriate for kids. Did we really have to go there?! Yomar thinks Stan is overthinking things. Stan throws down the Gauntlet of Aristotle even if he’d rather bring out the Bible.

Yomar really enjoyed Doctor Who Episode 5, Time Heist. Stan, on the other hand, really enjoyed the opportunity to examine Moffat’s vision of a limping doctor and a world without children.

For a quick, introduction to the Doctor and Series 8, check out the TWTT Episode 3 Recap, here. Per requests made on YouTube, pics of Yomar and Stan are in the Episode 5 Recap. You might even catch a glimpse of Yomar in the YouTube videos for Episode 6.

Comment, luv, etc.

Yomar Lopez and Stan Faryna share some of the love the Timey Wimey Tea Time podcast is getting on YouTube and elsewhere. Here’s a few of the comments we talked about on the podcast.

Youtube: Luke Mulders asks:

Do you know what it feels like to be betrayed?

Youtube: Juanlits writes:

I feel stuck in a place where there is no love, no hope and no listening?

Youtube: Doris Penta writes:

I liked the thing you said about how death doesn’t change how we feel about each other.

Geeky Antics #TWTT Forum: BFT9000 writes:

Rose Tyler was a really good character. The whole “Bad Wolf” angle really neat because it opened up so many options that the writers can pull on from time to time. Take for instance the 50th anniversary episode. Did the weapon actually have an A.I., or was it Rose while she was connected to the rift? I like to think it was the latter (I know you’re out there bubble bursters. Let my bubble float! :P). Plus the references in later episodes and in Torchwood are nice touches.

But for best companion? Sorry, I gotta go with Martha Jones. She was smart on her own and didn’t have to rely on The Doctor for everything. Also that she was able to realize that it was time for her to leave The Doctor and make a clean break with no regrets is something I liked.

Poetry, Quotes, etc.

Stan and Yomar dive into the meaning and relevance of the heroic with a poem by e.e. cummings.
