Doctor, who?!

In Episode TWTT 9, Yomar and Stan talk about Mummy on the Orient Express, The Walking Dead’s Season 5 Premier and Selfie Episode 2. And don’t forget to wish a very Happy Birthday to Stan. Today is his birthday!

The doctor takes Clara on a purported last hurrah. By many accounts and ours, it was an interesting plot. The Orient Express in space. How cool is that? And a mummy too?! Wow!

Sometimes, the only choices you have are bad ones, but you still have to choose.

As always, we gladly shared some of the comments you left on YouTube and voicemail for TWTT Episode 8.

Tune in Saturday, October 25th at 12 noon ET for TWTT Episode 10 on http://www.twitch.tv/geekyantics or http://www.allgames.com.

October 25th. 12 noon for New York City, Washington, D.C. and Miami, 9am for the U.S. West Coast, 4pm in Madrid, 5pm for London and 7pm, Bucharest.

If a life is precious? Shall we not mourn an untimely loss?

Can we celebrate a doctor with a chest?

Are we now become heartless creatures? Have we become loveless?

The Doctor and Clara go on a last hurrah aboard the space-faring Orient Express. Clara intends this to be her last adventure with the doctor. There’s a mummy on board and it’s killing the passengers.

There’s a problem, however, for the doctor is C.S. Lewis’ man without a chest. And several people in the TWTT community are upset by it.

Are we becoming a heartless generation as we devote ourselves, more and more, to materialism – in our fascination with entertainment, pleasure and self-gratification?

The Timey Wimey Tea Time Episode 9 Recap

This episode Yomar Lopez and Stan Faryna talk about compassion, mercy and love in a round about way.

Yomar liked Mummy on the Orient Express. Stan didn’t.

In Mummy on the Orient Express, the Doctor solves the mystery of the murderous Mummy with a heartless and laboratory patience as people die around him. He does not feel their pain and fear. In fact, he dismisses it. Despite some misgivings about the doctor, however, Clara is sympathetic to his scientific method. On the other hand, Perkins, the train’s engineer, is wary and refuses the doctor’s invitation to join him for further adventure.

Comment, luv, etc.

Yomar Lopez and Stan Faryna share some of the love and inspiration the Timey Wimey Tea Time podcast is getting on YouTube and elsewhere. Here’s a few of the comments we shared on the podcast.

Youtube: Pepa Farra writes:

Youtube: Pedro Nava asks:

Are you going to talk about The Walking Dead?

Stan replies:

The Season 5 Premier of The Walking Dead, No Sanctuary, rocked. Red meat, explosions, zombies, emotional tension, and, spoilers sweetie, Carol is back. And like Bruce Banner, you don’t want to see Tyreese when he’s angry.

The pre-credit sequence was intense. Rick, Glenn, Daryl, and Bob are bond and on their knees. They kneel in front of a stainless steel trough. The trough is there to catch the blood that will drain from their slit throats. The butchers are armed with a baseball bat and a large chef’s knife.

Diary Of A Mother Separated From Her Child, Quarantined In An Ebola Ravaged House

September 14, 2014

I saw the Ebola task force spraying the house today; unlocking the doors. I’m so weak, but I’ve managed to run closer to the house to see my son. This time, they didn’t stop me. The house is empty.

Things to ponder.

The Abolition of Man

At the conclusion of Chapter One of his book, The Abolition of Man, C.S. Lewis writes of the paradox in which we find ourselves:

… such is the tragi-comedy of our situation — we continue to clamour for those very qualities we are rendering impossible. You can hardly open a periodical without coming across the statement that what our civilization needs is more ‘drive’, or dynamism, or self-sacrifice, or ‘creativity’. In a sort of ghastly simpUcity we remove the organ and demand the function. We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honour and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and bid the geldings be fruitful.

Mother Teresa’s Speech

Those who are materially poor can be very wonderful people. One evening we went out and we picked up four people from the street. And one of them was in a most terrible condition. I told the Sisters: “You take care of the other three; I will take care of the one who looks worse.” So I did for her all that my love can do. I put her in bed, and there was such a beautiful smile on her face.

She took hold of my hand, as she said one word only: “thank you” – and she died.

I could not help but examine my conscience before her. And I asked: “What would I say if I were in her place?” And my answer was very simple. I would have tried to draw a little attention to myself. I would have said: “I am hungry, I am dying, I am cold, I am in pain,” or something.

But she gave me much more – she gave me her grateful love. And she died with a smile on her face.
